Technology

Technology has greatly changed the way we work and how we live our lives.
Does technology make positive influences to society?

As far as I can see, technology obviously benefits humankind in terms of economical profit. This may be illustrated with an example about the importance of transportation technology, namely airplanes, in human life. With all the new technologies have developed rapidly, airplanes are now large, fast, even able to fly supersonically and make transoceanic flights regularly. Supposing that an ordinary person wants to travel from Singapore to Sydney, Australia. The theoretic air distance between two cities is around 6316 km. It is estimated that it will take him about 52 days and 15 hours to travel that distance by walking with average speed at 5km per hour. However, if he travels that distance by Boeing 777- 200R, one of the most modern flights in the world with cruising speed at 915 km per hour, it will take him only 7 hours 15 minutes! The time difference is absolutely clear. Furthermore, in term of carrying products, the ability of an airplane is also much more effective than the ability of an ordinary person. The cargo capacity of Boeing 777-200R is 20 tones while an ordinary person just brings at the most 30 kilograms when he is walking at 5 km per hour. From such comparison, we can see how beneficial airplanes are. Some people may argue that they will still exist on the earth without airplane, without transportation technology, or without technology. It is true because humans can do everything. Nevertheless, by their mission to the movement of freight and passengers around the globe, airplanes have changed the world in innumerable ways and have expanded our vision of the possible enormously. Airplanes help people transport the huge amounts of goods quickly. Airplanes help people decrease travel time significantly. And, what is more when people are able to move faster, save more time? Certainly, after all, they will do business more effective in order to create hefty economical profits. Once having plenty of money, humans’ lives will definitely be more convenient, more affluent.

I agree with what you talked in your article and I think technology is a double -edged sword. While it bringing us a lot of benefits, it also brings some destroyment.

I can feel your effort to write this entry.Eveything always has two face, right? However, althuogh the bad effects of technology,we have to develop it for our lives, right? In this life, everything has two face,we can not change it.The only thing we have to do is choose what is more necessary and what should be done first.Life is the process of unbalance and balance, right?

This is a very well organized paragraph on a most interesting topic.

I have a question about a phrase in one of your sentences: "With all the new technologies have developed rapidly...."

What do you know about prepositional phrases needing noun objects? How might that apply in this case?
